BB Breakdown: 7.1.11

You may or may not know this, blog buddies, but my favorite reality show of ALL FREAKING TIME is Big Brother.  I just love it.  I don't know why, exactly.   Arguably, it's not very good all the time.  In fact, quite often, it's kinda crap.  But I'm a sucker for real life human drama involving people a lil' off their rocker and, other than Cops (another guilty pleasure), Big Brother offers it up more than any other show on TV.

Occasionally through this season of the show, Ryan and I will be sharing our thoughts in a new feature we're called BB Breakdown.  Here is our first installment where we discuss the recently announced house guests and this season's twist.

Enjoy!
:)
Ross

PS - The new season kicks off on July 7th, btw.
PPS - Our apologies if you're not a fan of the show.  Please bear with us.  :)

  1. I'm not a fan of Big Brother Ross but it was fun when you where interviewing them as they was kicked out of the house. I hope you guys enjoy this season.

  2. HATE bringing back old idiots- ruins the mystery and intrigue how contestants play. ALl the focus goes on the returning players.

  3. My dog is responding to the squeak toy noise. Also, I love BB, too! I always wonder how long I'd last on that show. :)

  4. I think y'all were confusing Danielle and Monica -- Monica was the one who said "It's on!" and "I'll co-sign that!"

  5. funny stuff. i don't do reality tv. no offense to anyone, but it's like bottom-feeding. it appeals to our basest instincts and i like to think i am above that. but, each to his own. enjoy!

  7. You two are funny! Such an obsession, but I can't judge I am hooked on The Bachelor & Bachelorette.

Oh BTW: Yahoo, it's freakin' FRIDAY!

Have a great 4th weekend BB's, be safe & see ya next week.

  12. I'm not a Big Brother fan, but I am a Ross and Ryan fan, so I look forward to your BB talkies. It will be nice to have Taya in the mix, too!

  13. Smickett - seriously? Did you read what you wrote before you posted it?? How rude. Bottom feeders.... you like to think you are above that?? You just insulted lots of people including the owner of this blog. You could have found another way to express your opinion.

Cherrish- thanks for the link. It was superb!! :)

Granny- hee hee- nope, no pony for me :)

Katie- hope things turn out ok for Finn

Karen- which Christmas...hmmm now all of a sudden you're in a hurry to get it ??? Hee Hee

Ryan and Ross- LOVE your bb commentary- you should tell us who you are going to vote for. I agree- no former winners. I like the original shows with mixed ages and no one knew the others. It was interesting to see the alliances form. Look forward to your updates. Do you remember the very first time someone was "back doored" ? Wasn't that Nakomis who thought of it?
    Anyone remember??

  14. I wish they would have let us vote for the returning peeps...I would have loved to see Jase (from the 4 horsemen alliance) without Holly....Danielle from season 3 for sure...Marvin...few others I can't think of right now. If I had the decision though, I would leave it a houseful of strangers, no one has strikes or pluses before going in, everyone on an even playing field.

I'd love a celebrity BB, with Ross and Julie Chen for starters LoL

  15. Chef: I am NOT naked! But I AM heading out with huz to brave the 112 degree furnace at Wang's and Hunter's. Blog Buddies, I'd appreciate your prayers and need your support as I embark on this perilous happy hour adventure!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Gypsy- i agree- strangers and even playing field is most fun to watch.

Celebrity BB with Ross and Ryan!!!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hi Ross: I have watched every season of BB and I may be the only one that likes Jessie. Still, I do not want to see him or any of the others back this year. If so, why not invite Steven Daigle? Huh?

What I also hate about BB is all of the Los Angeles actors and wannabe stars that end up on the show as opposed to regular people from Iowa or Virginia. There are a lot of great regular people like Renny, Jerry, Libra, that make for great reality TV personalities.

We will see how this year goes. So far I love the big black muscle hunk!!! yum.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Bear- you may not be naked now but will you be able to say the same after drinking in the 112 degree heat???? :)

  21. SueZK, it's not smickett, it's smikette. get my name right before you give me crap. i preceded my opinion with "no offense". i think that was sufficient. just 'cause it feels like bottom-feeding to me, obviously, doesn't mean it does to everyone. lighten up already! it's cool.

    hugs & love

  22. Ummm okay, so I have to say, I find Ryan VERY sexy!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. LOVE BB & so looking forward to it!

Also, I think you're both very interesting & fresh in the morning! But I like ppl when they're not "polished." : )

    ReplyDelete
  24. smikette- say what you will. Saying no offense does not in and of itself make the words you write inoffensive. I found them offensive, specifically these and I quote " it appeals to our basest instincts and i like to think i am above that"
It is a free country as far as I know so I am entitled to say if something offends me and others who enjoy the show.
I apologize for not getting your name right. I just wonder why you omitted the post where you also admitted getting mine wrong and apologized for it. Heh kind of hypocritical :)
If you are free to throw your opinions out there then certainly so am I
    You have a great weekend

    ReplyDelete
  25. SueZK, yes, i got your name wrong. i have trouble with that. i transpose letters, numbers and words quite often.
i agree with you about opinions; we are all free to express them. and for the record, i didn't call anyone a bottom-feeder. i said it felt like that to me.
and i like bottom-feeders - catfish is delicious!

  26. Like JonRoycePhotog said, All the wanna be's might use bb to get a break in acting....kinda reminds me of the Dating Game (showing my age here), but lots of folks who became famous later were on that show way before fame caught up with them. I think reality shows are that vehicle now.

  27. I don't like the twist this year either!

  28. Howdy Doody Everybody!

I love watching Big Brother Ross.
You and Sal have a great weekend. xo

    Suze
LOL @ in a hurry. Laughed out loud. :O)

    Bear
LOL @ your Prayer request. Who'd a thunk, LOL.

    Chef
LOL @ I have locked the gates. You'll have to lock
more than that if Bear gets loose and naked in PS.

    Have a good one Gang.
    Be Kind and Thankful.

  29. To me the twist means they couldn't get enough new people to fill a new season so they said that let's bring some past Big Brother people.

  30. Good Saturday morning gang! I hope you all have a Bomb Pop day!

Karen, for the time being you will have to use the swamp behind our house. (tehee)

  32. Ross, because of you I started watching Big Brother the year Evil Dick won. I LOVE IT! I cannot wait for the season to start. I LOVED the talky blog with you and Ryan. I so hope they don't bring Jesse back....again! I thought the voting page was for the fans to vote on who they want to return but then I heard an interview with Alyson Grodner that that is not the case. I wonder if Julie Chen will have the voted off houseguests on "The Talk"

  44. Good evening Rossblogians! LOL I made that up.

Very quiet here this evening, for the eve of 4th of July. Boy when we were kids we had tons of fireworks and I never knew anyone who hurt themselves with them. I miss all the firecrackers! The cops come to our house when we set off mortars. Sheesh. I guess that's small town life!

Whabby and Chef, how did you make out in today's heat? What did you do? It got to 90 here I think but it rained and now it's 74! Very soupy though.

SoCal, did you christen the pool today for this year? :)

Granny, I bet your front yard looks really cool now! So nice of your family to come beautify it for you (and the HOA--LOL).

Who's got plans for tomorrow? Independence Day? Whatcha doing?

Elizabeth, we had strange weather today, didn't we?!

Karen, did ol sol stick around? Hope so!

    Katie

Our next door neighbor was setting off firworks so we got our swimsuits on and went swimming and watched them, and watched the lightning till it got closer and we got out. SO what is everyone doing on this wonderful sunday night?

Ross~~ I haven;t seen you in a while, and when I saw you talky my jaw droped, you look like you have lost some weight, you look amazing!

  47. Good Monday morning gang! I hope you all have a fire cracker day!

    Happy Independence Day!!!

LOL Karen, I don't go into that swamp, there was an alligator in it last year. I also am told their are a lot of snakes like rattlers and such. The more I think about it you can share the master bath with me and Larry. ; )

Katie, Our holiday plan is for Larry working from 4am to 11am while I clean the house and plant a couple more flowers we purchased yesterday. Then we will have left over BBQ ribs, tater salad and baked beans for supper.
